Welcome to Luna Birth Services Founded by Louise Lotty

I’m Louise, mum of three and founder of Luna Birth Services.

My own experiences of pregnancy and birth are a big part of what led me to this work. I used hypnobirthing throughout all three of my pregnancies and births, and although each experience was different, having practical tools, good preparation and a supportive birth partner made a real difference to how I approached them.

I founded Luna Birth Services in 2020 and have since supported couples preparing for first babies, subsequent births and many different birth circumstances. 

Families travel from across Cork, Kerry and the wider Munster region to attend my courses. I also support parents across Ireland through private online sessions.

I’m a qualified Childbirth Educator and Hypnobirthing Instructor, as well as a trained Postpartum Doula and volunteer Breastfeeding Counsellor.

The course I teach today is my own signature Luna Birth Services course. I have developed and continually refined it through years of teaching, specialist training, my own birth experiences and, importantly, listening to the couples I work with.

My approach is practical, personal and realistic. I do not believe there is one perfect way to give birth or one definition of a positive birth. I want you to understand more, feel well prepared and have practical tools that you and your birth partner can use together.

Through small-group hypnobirthing courses in Cork and Kerry, as well as private support, I help parents prepare for birth feeling calmer, more informed and supported.

The Role of the Birth Partner

A strong focus of my courses is making sure your birth partner feels prepared too.

Many partners arrive wanting to help but not really knowing what they will be able to do during labour. We practise together so that they understand how to support your breathing and relaxation, provide practical comfort, help create a calm environment and support you in communicating your preferences.

I want you both to leave feeling that you have prepared for birth together.

Experience, training & professional standards

I take the responsibility of supporting families as they prepare for birth seriously, and I continue to invest in my training and professional development as Luna Birth Services grows.

I am registered with the Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT) and fully insured. 

My professional training includes childbirth education, hypnobirthing, postpartum doula support and breastfeeding counselling.

I am also a volunteer breastfeeding counsellor with Cuidiú.

My training, professional standards and ongoing learning sit alongside something I value just as much: the experience gained from years of teaching and listening to the families I work with. 

I am registered with the Federation of Antenatal and Postnatal Educators (FEDANT), which maintains a professional register of antenatal educators, and I hold appropriate professional insurance.

How You Can Work With Me

There are different ways we can work together, depending on the kind of preparation and support you are looking for.

My small-group, one-day hypnobirthing courses are held in Glanmire, Cork and Barraduff, near Killarney in Kerry. Groups are limited to six couples, giving you plenty of opportunity to ask questions, practise together and receive personal attention.

I also offer private birth preparation, both in person in Cork and online across Ireland, for couples who would prefer a more individual approach or have particular areas they would like to focus on.
